I decided to get my money's worth for the health insurance premiums and went for a full checkup and oil change at 51.
There I got diagnosed with Type II Diabetes Mellitus.
It came as quite a shock, but after a couple of days I sort of figured that I had two ways to deal with this: Either become someone suffering from a long-term condition or someone managing a long-term condition.
I chose the latter and set out to figure out and do whatever I needed to do to manage it.
What I discovered and what I did helped me, and then people started asking me about this stuff and had had a hard time finding information so I decided to gather what I knew and had discovered here.
I am not a doctor and you should not use this site in lieu of actual medical or professional nutritional advice. That would be silly.

The material on this page is what I've picked up after being diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes in October 2018.
I am not a doctor and you should consult one to see which treatment and management options are right for you.
Take your meds. Track your progress. Good luck.
I put this web together for my dad and his friends who are also tackling diabetes type II. Turns out it's easy to find lots of stuff about this but hard to find practical information.
